Our client's long-term PRIME contract team builds new cloud-based systems for collection, normalization, storage, and analytics on network data related to the status, health, and performance of networks. They ingest and manage extremely large data flows from various feeds and use data science and network expertise to identify actionable alerts.
The tech stack here is huge and ever-changing, including a variety of Cloud, DevOps, ETL, Analysis & Visualization, Messaging, Development, and Network technologies: Linux, AWS/C2S (many services), VMware, NiFi, Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef, Nagios, Amazon EMR Spark, ElasticSearch, Pig, RabbitMQ, AMQP (Advanced Message Queuing Protocol), Java, Python, Perl, ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana, and more. One of the lead engineers said "a big selling point is that a wide variety of technologies are used (and/or experimented with), and the project and customer leadership welcome spreading the wealth around, so to speak - there's plenty of opportunity to take on something new."
The team is close-knit, collaborative, and a bit more laid back than most projects. Despite some great talent, there is an uncommon level of humility on the team, and everyone's opinions are welcome on how to do things better.
This team has regular needs for Linux / VMware Engineers, Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, DevOps Engineers, ETL Developers, Analytic Software Developers, and Dataflow Engineers.
This work takes place at various customer and contractor locations around Ft. Meade, Annapolis Junction, Jessup, Linthicum, and Columbia MD. All roles require US citizenship and a current TS/SCI + FS Poly clearance.
