The Role
We're seeking a skilled OCI Database Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment. You will optimize performance, ensure security, and automate database operations. You will also provide technical expertise and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust database solutions.

What You'll Bring
Strong knowledge of Oracle Database (versions 12c, 19c, or newer).
Proficiency in OCI database services (Autonomous Database, DBaaS, Exadata Cloud Service).
Familiarity with cloud architecture, virtualization, and OCI-specific tools (OCI CLI, Console, and APIs).
Experience with SQL query optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
Hands-on experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools like Oracle AWR, ASH, or OEM.
Understanding of cloud-native principles and experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, OCI Resource Manager).
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell scripting, or PL/SQL.
Familiarity with database security best practices, encryption, and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience designing, configuring and implementing all aspects of the full stack architecture delivering innovative solutions by combining Oracle best practices, knowledge in IT product offerings, and business acumen.
Experience providing subject matter expertise to assist customers through difficult business decisions.
Recommends enhancements to meet complex customer needs.

Clearance Requirements
TS/SCI with FS Polygraph (no clearance upgrades or CCAs). Please note, you MUST have the required clearance for consideration (uncleared or under-cleared applicants will not receive a response).
