Our client owns a significant share of the Big Data market in the IC/DoD and is a member of the Inaugural Big Data 100. They provide software and services based on open source Big Data technologies to help customers make sense out of all their data and find the patterns and correlations essential to solving analytic problems of importance to national security. They work with structured text, unstructured text, geospatial data, images, videos, network data of various kinds, and other types of data, and they help IC/DoD agencies learn how to analyze all of this in a consolidated, real-time manner.
Our client is seeking Solutions Architects to lead Hadoop-based engagements with Intelligence Community and DoD customers. To be successful in this role you'll need to have experience setting up Hadoop and creating Hadoop jobs. A good solid software/systems background, particular in distributed computing, is a significant plus. Specifically, you need to be strong in several of the following areas:
- Skilled in Spark, Accumulo, and/or Nifi
- Programming Java or Python (including an understanding of data structures / algorithms)
- Databases (ideally NoSQL and/or data warehousing environments)
- Linux (sysadmin: install, monitor, debug)
- Networking (design and problem debugging)
This position sits on customer site in Tysons Corner, VA and requires an active TS/SCI + FS polygraph. There is a strong compensation package which includes base salary + bonus + stock. Highly qualified candidates could see salaries at $200K with bonus and stock on top.
